The Construction Headquarters of the China West Airport Group (CWAG) sent a letter of acknowledgement to Strategic Planning Services, Inc. (SPS) for the exceptional professional services and diligent work provided for the Xi’an Xianyang International Airport (XIY) Phase Ⅲ consulting project.

 

This project consists of the planning and design of three new runways, a 700,000㎡ new east terminal, 115 gate parking apron, 350,000 ㎡GTC and parking lot, and supporting facilities (APM system, air cargo, air catering, fire station, and utilities).  This XIY Phase Ⅲ project has been planned to efficiently serve 83 million annual passengers and 1 million tons of cargo by the year 2030.

 

The consortium formed by SPS and China Architecture Design & Research Group won the competition to carry out the technical consulting, design and management of XIY Phase Ⅲ project. The CWAG commended SPS for their high-quality effort, guidance, and diligence during this project:

 

• Efficiently completing the effort under a tight schedule during the challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

• Providing expert technical solutions during the preliminary design and construction document phases including simulation studies for the terminal, GTC and apron area.

• Providing unique and practical solutions to planning and design challenges throughout the project

• Ensuring a high level of cooperation and coordination among the entire team with responsive actions and practical ideas.

• Ensuring that the design remained true to the strategic mission set forth by CWAG

 

This XIY project joins a long list of successful professional aviation consulting services that our staff has provided for CWAG and their airports, which in addition to Xi’an, includes Xining Caojiabao International Airport (XNN) and Yinchuan Hedong International Airport (INC). SPS is proud to have the opportunity to contribute our aviation consulting experience and expertise to support CWAG and promote the development of civil aviation in Shaanxi, Qinghai, and Ningxia provinces.  We look forward to continuing working with CWAG throughout construction of phase III XIY project.
